Deal Covers Prime Class A Properties in Major US Cities
CHICAGO, Nov. 11, 2014 — ExteNet Systems, a leading provider of distributed networks enabling advanced mobile connectivity in commercial real estate, today announced a master agreement with Beacon Capital Partners, a leading urban office investor and operator, to deploy its distributed networks in 21 of Beacon’s prime office properties across New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Denver and Seattle.
“At Beacon Capital Partners we are continuously exploring ways to provide superior infrastructure solutions for our tenants. The ability to differentiate ourselves and our buildings has been the foundation of our success from day one,” said Sara Shank, Head of Portfolio Management for Beacon Capital Partners. “Delivering reliable advanced wireless connectivity to our tenants gives us a huge competitive edge and adds significant value to our portfolio. We chose to partner long-term with ExteNet based on its national footprint, technology agnostic approach to solving our problems and track record of success working with several high-profile properties, including the Empire State Building
As data and rich media consumption generated from smart connected devices continues to skyrocket, office buildings are increasingly faced with challenges in delivering reliable and high-performance mobile coverage and capacity. To fill coverage gaps and enable wireless carriers to deliver a superior mobile broadband experience to its tenants, Beacon Capital Partners will work with ExteNet to deploy its distributed networks in several landmark buildings in Beacon’s portfolio, including Columbia Center in Seattle, Wells Fargo Tower in Denver, 180 N LaSalle in Chicago and 32 Old Slip in New York.
Ross Manire, President and CEO of ExteNet Systems, stated, “While nearly 80 percent of mobile usage originates indoors, only a small fraction of commercial real estate buildings are currently covered by indoor wireless solutions to support the coverage and capacity needs of today’s business users and enterprises. Smartphone and tablet usage are exhausting existing mobile networks. Streaming media and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) are rapidly becoming the norm in the workplace.” Manire added, “Offering tenants and guests advanced mobile connectivity and a superior mobile experience is essential for property owners and managers. ExteNet will actively engage wireless carriers to provide mobile connectivity in Beacon Capital Partners properties that will further distinguish its service for tenants and customers.”
