Sales Manager (New York Metro)

Title: Sales Manager

Position Overview:

The Sales Manager will be expected to develop and close new revenue opportunities for ExteNet Systems’ Optical Network Solutions team, based in Metro NY. You’ll identify and develop new sales opportunities, provide product solutions, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain positive ongoing relationships to maximize sales for the company. You’ll introduce company products and services to new and existing customers; develop and maintain accurate sales and revenue forecasts and management of quota funnels.


  • Achieve monthly revenue and forecasting targets
  • Develop and target tenants within On-Net building list
  • Schedule and attend sales meetings to present ExteNet’s value proposition and identify new opportunities
  • Provide competitive proposals, highlighting ExteNet’s value proposition
  • Act as primary point of contact for prospects and customers with On-Net presence
  • Develop strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers within the network footprint
  • Maintain account information in CRM system


  • 3-5 yrs. of successful experience selling fiber-based solutions to Enterprise or Service Providers; knowledgeable of facilities-based fiber business within footprint
  • Thorough understanding of competitive landscape in Metro Ethernet and IP market
  • Current and demonstrable experience with Ethernet, optical transport, IP and dark fiber solutions; working knowledge of optical networking a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms
  • Clear written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven prospecting, networking and business development skills
  • Self-motivated team player with a polished presence and strong negotiation skills
  • Bachelors’ degree
