The ExteNet lab facility is integral to ensure: the replication of field identified issues, the validation of software and hardware functionality prior to field deployment, training of new ExteNet staff on products, tools and applications, the continued on-going education and training of experienced Extenet staff, and the trial of new technologies in a controlled environment.

The lab & test application manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a fully operational lab facility at ExteNet. This includes but is not limited to: establishing processes and controls for using the lab and managing/coordinating test activities with all users.

This role will also be responsible for working with customers to resolve problems identified in the field. This may include developing and testing step by step Method of Procedures (MOPs) within the lab to ensure the successful execution of corrective action steps in the field.

In addition, this position will be supporting OEM software upgrade activity by installing and testing OEM software in a controller lab environment which mimics the ExteNet field environment.

Job Functions:

  • Establish, set-up and maintain a 550 square foot lab space; including RF chamber.
  • Establish, maintain and train the organization in the lab procedures and standards.
  • Manage lab equipment, set-up and support for a ready lab environment supporting multiple OEM suppliers for DAS, WIFI, Small Cell, power solutions.
  • Develop and verify Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for activities to be performed in a production environment.
  • Create Test Strategies documentation, Test Plans and Test Case documentation for the verification of OEM supplied software.
  • Execute the Test Strategy, Test Plans and Test Cases against OEM supplied software.
  • Create reports for ExteNet management and clients on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance for the ExteNet lab facilities.
  • Collaborate and maintain a positive working relationship with both internal ExteNet teams and clients.
  • Develop project documentation, including statements of work, detailed project plans, architecture designs, detailed implementation plans, deployment plans, project test plans, and operational training material.
  • Support the development of standards that produce high availability, scalable and robust network and wireless designs including the development and maintenance of written documentation.
  • Identify, coordinate and document preventive, proactive and corrective maintenance requirements .
  • Plan, execute and supervise planned network maintenance projects such as software or hardware upgrades, network expansion and data collection activities.
  • Troubleshoot, provide technical support and technical problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and manage outage restoration efforts, including joint outage conference bridges with customer, vendors and partner teams.
  • Directly communicate networking ideas and concepts to customers, vendors, partners and peers.
  • Lead, manage, and improve work processes.

  • A minimum of 7 years demonstrated success in a technical leadership role within a technical lab environment.
  • Working knowledge of DAS, WIFI, Small Cell, LTE and telecom equipment; including configurations, set-up, and validation methods.
  • Proven hands-on leadership managing validation and verification of products and software.
  • Experience working in an emerging growth technology services company.
  • The ability to convey a strong sense of urgency, responsiveness, follow-through and successfully manage outcomes
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • The ability to work in a 24/7 environment without supervision
