Laura Altschul, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Network Policy

Laura Altschul is a telecommunications executive and one of the industry’s leading experts in wireless site development and policy. Her background in all aspects of wireless includes substantial management experience as well as expertise in infrastructure development and industry external affairs.

Before joining Extenet Systems, Altschul was with T-Mobile USA for more than a decade, most recently as the Director of National External Affairs/Engineering. Her tenure included work as the General Manager of Real Estate and Land Use, where she was the National Strategic Advisor for company leaders including area directors, site acquisition and land use managers. During her employment at T-Mobile she also served as Director of Technical Operations and Development and as Director for State and Local Government Affairs.

Altschul's industry leadership was recognized when she became the first recipient of Wireless Week's Leadership in Education Award. Altschul’s expertise led her and her teams to create and manage community advocacy groups such as the Wireless Access Coalition and Coverage Communications Campaign, using local advocacy to overcome objections to building cell sites, particularly in residential areas. She is a sought-after industry spokesperson and lecturer; she has served on several industry committees, including the GSM Association RAG Health Policies Work Group (North American Representative), PCIA’s State and Local Zoning Committee, CTIA Tower Siting Committee, the DAS Forum, and Wireless Womens Leadership Forum.

Prior to joining T-Mobile, Altschul was the Site Development Senior Manager at Verizon Wireless (GTE MobilNet). She began her career in the wireless industry as a Team Leader and Project Manager with a site development program management consulting firm, where she recruited and managed teams and client relationships to build network infrastructures for wireless carriers.

She is a graduate of Michigan State University and received an MS in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University. She also received a Certificate in Global Enterprise Management, Organizations, Environment and Political Economy from Oxford University.
