ExteNet Systems Hits a Home Run at Marlins Park
T-Mobile, Verizon sign on to ExteNet’s distributed antenna system (DAS) to improve wireless service for Marlins fans

LISLE, Illinois – April 17, 2012 - ExteNet Systems, a leader in the deployment and operation of distributed networks, has been chosen by Miami-Dade County and the Miami Marlins to help improve fan experience by designing, building, managing and maintaining a DAS inside Marlins Park, home to the Miami Marlins. ExteNet has signed agreements with Verizon and T-Mobile to provide enhanced wireless service within the park.

Marlins Park officially opened on April 4, 2012 for Major League Baseball’s (MLB) opening night, when the St. Louis Cardinals faced off against the Miami Marlins in the 37,000 seat, 928,000 square foot stadium. With the installation of ExteNet’s DAS, the stadium is one of MLB’s most state of the art facilities, enabling fans to stay connected before, during and after the game. And with the addition of a retractable roof, the Marlins will have no rain delays and an amazing fan experience, rain or shine, on hot Miami days.

“ExteNet has provided Marlins Park with the most comprehensive solution for wireless connectivity in our ballpark,” said Claude Delorme, Executive Vice President of Operations and Events, Miami Marlins. “Our fans’ experience at a game is of upmost importance and by adding wireless service to our ballpark, we give them convenient access to email, texting and applications, including live video streaming, which certainly adds to their experience at Marlins Park.”

“Marlins Park is a great addition to Miami and ExteNet is pleased to partner with the Marlins, Verizon and T-Mobile to bring wireless coverage to the stadium” said Ross Manire, ExteNet’s Chief Executive Officer.

ExteNet’s Network Operations Center (NOC) will provide 24x7x365 monitoring of the network.
