Ayers, a veteran mobile communications executive, will be responsible for developing new technology and business service offerings to expand and enhance ExteNet's value delivery to its customers. In addition, he will oversee the company’s national network performance and optimization group and the Network Operations Center (NOC), which provides 24x7x365 monitoring of distributed wireless networks.

Ayers has extensive experience helping telecom carriers throughout the world solve business challenges. “Tim is a proven, respected leader in the mobile telecom industry and has the vision, drive and expertise to enable customers to use our solutions and expert methods to improve the end-user experience, which in turn will improve business performance,” said Ross Manire, ExteNet’s Chief Executive Officer.

Ayers’ team at ExteNet will leverage the mobile network services capabilities that ExteNet has mastered for its own distributed networks, which carriers employ to deliver data and voice services, to create innovative, highly scalable professional services for mobile service providers, content distributors and systems integrators.

These services will include specialized network monitoring and operations services; network architecture, design and integration services; and network migration and performance optimization services.

“Today’s mobile user wants secure, instantly available, high bandwidth data and video service – even when they are in the midst of a major sporting event, concert or convention setting,” Ayers said. “Event venues and mobile carriers increasingly recognize how critical this is to their competitive success. We have the expertise and solutions to enable customers to enhance their competitive performance in these especially demanding indoor and outdoor environments,” he said.

Ayers joins ExteNet Systems from CradlePoint, Inc., a provider of enterprise-focused 3G and 4G mobile routing solutions, where he served as Senior Vice President, Services and oversaw the development and commercial launch of a SaaS-based network management service. Previously, he developed and managed Tellabs’ Global Consulting and Professional Services organization, providing high-end, SaaS-based network analytics, architecture, design, migration and optimization services to mobile and cable operators worldwide.
