Supply Chain Manager

Title: Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager will support Network Operations, Network Planning, and Company initiatives. This person will report to the Executive Director of Network Planning. The Supply Chain Consultant will work closely with all operating units with ExteNet to form a collaborative and comprehensive initiative to analyze, review, and make recommendations for supply chain needs across the enterprise. The position requires a technical understanding and demonstrated success in the areas of supply chain strategy and vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify supply chain trends, recommendations for consolidating vendor spend, outlining and targeting areas for cost reductions and instituting a best practice framework achieving the best unit costs for components needed to deploy distributed networks.
  • Ability to develop forward looking sourcing strategies related to wireless infrastructure and components for small cell, Wi-fi, and indoor and outdoor Distributed Network Systems (DNS), and fiber construction services.
  • Understands supplier markets and anticipate changes in market conditions, reliability of supply and supply economics.
  • Ability to sources materials, equipment, supplies, and commodity products.
  • Perform analysis of purchasing needs, including analysis of costs and performance and measure vendor adherence to negotiated pricing.
  • Forecasts supply requirements and issues periodic reports on trends and unit cost analysis.
  • Identify suppliers that can offer cost savings and create action plans to achieve those savings as measured by budget targets achievement and evaluating, negotiating and leveraging market conditions and bulk purchasing discounts.
  • Build and create business cases and value propositions for identified sourcing opportunities.
  • Communicate and present sourcing opportunities to influence and build internal support among clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, internal clients and key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial high value purchasing agreements with key suppliers.
  • Communicate and present sourcing opportunities to influence and build internal support among clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain telecommunications industry and professional sourcing & supply knowledge and stay up-to-date on industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited university; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sourcing or procurement experience in a telecommunication, wireless, network construction, or utility environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of entire supply chain process, category management, strategic sourcing, negotiations and contracting concepts.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of financial planning and product lifecycle metrics including total cost of ownership (TCO) and return on investment (ROI).
  • Excellent organization, communication, and research skills with the ability to accurately express and present ideas.
  • Strong understanding of wireless and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Strong account relationship skills, creative, driven and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Position may require travel.
