Position Overview:

ExteNet Systems, Inc., designs, builds, owns and operates distributed networks for use by wireless carriers and property owners in key markets. Using small cells, distributed antenna systems, and other proprietary technologies, ExteNet deploys solutions to enhance wireless service and network performance across both outdoor and indoor environments. ExteNet was founded in 2002, and is headquartered in Lisle, IL, 25 miles west of Chicago. We’ve grown to over 300 employees, and engage a network of contractors for engineering, construction, and maintenance services on our networks across the country. Privately-held ExteNet Systems, Inc. is one of only four “tech unicorns" in the Chicago area, and is well-capitalized for continued growth. The Director of Sales, Wholesale Services will report to the SVP & GM of our Enterprise Solutions Group, and spearhead new business development activity and a nationwide revenue-generating effort. The focus will be on leveraging our existing network assets across the U.S. with strong emphasis on the NYC/NJ, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, and Las Vegas markets. Based in one of our regional offices, up to 50% travel is expected throughout the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential customers for the Enterprise Solutions Group fiber products and services
  • Deliver the ExteNet Systems’ value proposition, and robust fiber assets to all Wholesale/Carrier/CDN/Cloud/Reseller market segments throughout the U.S.
  • Sales of data center connectivity will also be a part of the scope of this role
  • Develop a robust pipeline of prospects to meet or exceed sales quota
  • Negotiate service/MSA/IRU contracts with customers
  • Track all sales activity and pipeline deals in CRM system
  • Attend internal sales meetings and report on activity and results

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of successful sales in the telecommunications or data center industries
  • Proven success in Dark Fiber sales, leases, and IRUs
  • A self-starter with strong business acumen and attention to detail
  • Highly motivated to network and prospect for new business
  • A collaborative team player with excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Emotionally mature and dedicated to ownership of individual results
  • Capable of working remotely while independently developing and driving the business
  • Willing to occasionally work from a regional office to build/develop internal support structure
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of the industry and markets to recommend new business opportunities such as partnerships, new products or network expansion
  • Joint build and strategic partnership structure experience considered a plus
  • Received a B.A./B.S. from an accredited university
