ExteNet Systems plans, builds, operates and owns an extensive portfolio of neutral-host, multi-operator distributed wireless networks (DAS, Small Cell, Distributed EPC and WIFI) throughout North America, which are leased to mobile service providers. ExteNet owns and operates carrier-class 24x7x365 Network Operations Centers and has the responsibility to commission, monitor, operate and maintain the distributed networks and network assets, according to carrier-grade network availability, performance and security SLAs.

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the operations and management of spares equipment inventory throughout the United States. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for carrying out various tasks associated with the control of spare equipment/materials used to keep indoor/outdoor distributed networks on-air. Tasks include but are not limited to: order entry, inventory management, purchasing, shipping, receiving, tracking, auditing and reporting.

  • Set, track, and ensure minimum (and maximum) stocking levels are in place for equipment and materials across all regions to avoid unnecessary downtime or delays in restoring network outages
  • Initiate and track purchase order requisitions to acquire spare equipment and materials necessary to support customer service level commitments
  • Perform additional purchasing functions including but not limited to: back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues
  • Track and update equipment and material spares within inventory management tool
  • Interface with warehousing locations to audit and reconcile inventory as necessary
  • Track assets which require ongoing maintenance and liaise with appropriate parties to execute maintenance on spares stock
  • Ensure the overall accuracy, upkeep, and maintenance of spares inventory management system
  • Ensure compliance to inventory processes and procedures as well as compliance to contractual obligations
  • Compile, verify and report periodic statistical information to management regarding stocking levels, transactions, and trends in equipment/material usage by geographic region
  • Assist in developing solutions to specific spares and logistics problem areas
  • Maintain and update inventory on a regular basis to ensure accuracy
  • Responsible for managing consigned, non-consigned, customer owned or 3rd party inventory where necessary
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Education and Experience

  • BA or BS Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an inventory control environment
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be organized, efficient and accurate
  • Solid understanding and experience in shipping, inventory, and purchasing
  • Excellent customer service skills; displays a professional can-do attitude
  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both the customer and internal contacts
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio
